Always a firm advocator for technology, Ryan identified the direction for an e-commerce development and sees a business opportunity to offer FarEastFlora.com’s extensive range of flowers and gifts online in 2001. Seeing the need for an e-commerce website that would give customers the convenience of ordering online, Ryan blended his IT savviness and prudent business sense to steer the company’s website to become the leading portal for flowers and gifts.

Ryan also brought the company onto another level by spearheading the development of a CRM and ERP business solution, integrating the front-end and back-end operations so that there would be easier identification of customer base. The two key technology developments have since brought an approximate 30%-60% of growth in total sales between 2001 and 2005. He sits on the selection committee for the Spinoza Prize, nicknamed the Dutch “Nobel Prize” and on the Committee of Global Branding Experts, established by the Chinese government. He is chairman of the International Board of Experts, Institute for National Branding (Shanghai).

His work has been published in all major marketing and strategy journals as well as in Harvard Business Review. Professor Nirmalya Kumar, currently Lee Kong Chian Professor of Marketing at Singapore Management University and Distinguished Fellow at INSEAD, has previously taught at Columbia University, Harvard Business School, IMD (Switzerland), London Business School and Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

As a consultant, Nirmalya has worked with more than 50 Fortune 500 companies in 60 different countries as well as served on many prestigious board of directors, including ACC, Bata India, Tata Chemicals, and Zensar. Prior to joining Trax, Sameer was the Global Domain Leader for Retail & Distribution industries for Hewlett Packard Enterprise where he led the WW Sales, Strategy, Technology platforms, Partner ecosystem and execution around Retail, CPG & Distribution industries. In addition, as the General Manager, Industry Verticals, Sameer also led the vertical sales for Manufacturing (Hi-Tech, Electronics & Automotive), Distribution (Retail and Consumer), and other industries (Energy, Travel and Transportation) for Asia Pacific & Japan. Sameer holds a Master’s degree in business management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and is currently based in Singapore.

Mark is a pioneer in using design thinking to shape innovative human-centred experiences across products, services, and environments. He is also an award-winning designer and architect. He represented Singapore at the 11th Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition with work from UNION Experience, where he was a founding partner. From 2011 to 2016, he led the Experience Design studio, the strategic design and innovation practice that he started at ONG&ONG.

Mark has redefined user experience for clients such as the Housing Development Board, Singapore Airlines, the Singapore Stock Exchange, FRANK by OCBC, Sentosa, UOB, alongside many others across both private and public sectors. Mark joined the DesignSingapore Council (Dsg) as Executive Director on 14 May 2018. Before joining Dsg, Mark was the founder and principal of ANNEX A, a design, innovation and architectural consultancy that takes a design thinking approach to crafting human-centred experiences. He also served as an adjunct lecturer at the National University of Singapore (NUS)’s Institute of System Science (ISS), teaching digital service design and innovation practice. Mark is interested in the design and shaping of places to strengthen identity and community in the city, as well as the integration of the digital into the physical world for the re-imagination of city life. His book Let’s Experience Design! is currently out and available in most major physical and online bookstores.

Lawrence is the Co-founder and CEO at Consulus, a global innovation consultancy firm which helps leaders, companies and cities unite, transform and innovate to meet the challenges of Industry 4.0. Consulus was founded in Singapore in 2004 and is now present in 16 countries that include USA, Italy, and Sri Lanka. A global speaker, he has spoken at conferences such as Innovation by Design, World Marketing Summit, and in 30 cities such as Sao Paolo, Melbourne on innovation, business design and about a new economic approach called the Economy of Communion. His comments appear in regional media such as Nikkei Asian Review, Fortune and his thoughts are widely followed on LinkedIn with 400,000 followers. He is an active contributor to the local design sector having served two terms as President of Design Business Chamber Singapore from 2009 – 2013.

Brandon is a designer with Huge Singapore and is responsible for leading user-centered projects that combine real user needs with crucial business goals. As a designer and programmer, Brandon’s enthusiasm for web and interactive technologies as tools for digital innovation is supported by his previous work with Free Range Studios, Weber Shandwick, Hirshorn Zuckerman Design Group and WebFirst.

Brandon has collaborated with Google, The Gates Foundation, Horangi Cyber Security, USAID, Tides Foundation and ESL Music. Harikesh Nair is the Jonathan B. Lovelace Professor of Marketing at Stanford GSB. His research is in marketing analytics and computational social science. His research brings together social science theory, statistical tools and Marketing data to better understand consumer behavior and to improve the strategic marketing decisions of firms. This work speaks to the challenges and opportunities firms face as they transition to a world where Marketing becomes a data-oriented, algorithmically-driven business function. Nair is currently Chief Business Strategy Scientist at JD.com. In this role, he focuses on using marketing science and applied econometrics to drive growth for JD and its partner brands in China, leveraging the large data assets and AI-driven technology platform of JD.

Aik-Phong Ng is the Managing Director of Fave Singapore, Southeast Asia’s leading Online-to Offline and cashless payment start-up. AP, as he is more commonly known, is a founding member of Fave (previously known as KFit). As VP of Business Development, he was responsible for driving rapid business expansion of the popular fitness subscription platform KFit across Asia.

He currently heads out Fave’s Singapore business, focusing on growing the FavePay cashless payment and loyalty rewards solution amongst F&B merchants, as well as driving customer adoption of FavePay. In less than 10 months of launch, FavePay had processed its one millionth customer transaction and is now accepted at over 2,500 merchant locations in Singapore alone. AP is The Leading CEO Award recipient at the 2018 Singapore HR Awards, in recognition of his business and organisational leadership.

He was previously the Head of National Accounts for Groupon APAC, building and driving a regional business unit that generated annual revenues in excess of $50 Million across 6 countries (Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia & Singapore).
He is actively involved in the start-up and business community, being a judge at StartUp Weekend Singapore 2017, UNICON 2018 and the Guest-of-Honour for ACS (I) IDEX 2018. Aik-Phong was also a Panelist at CapitaMall Malaysia Fireside Chat 2017 on the topic of “Future of Retail”.
